The Third Sector and Institutions are one of the key components of WATAN’s work, focusing on building the capacities of civil society organizations in various community work and philanthropy fields.

Economic Empowerment Sector

The Economic Empowerment Sector aims to empower individuals and communities to control their lives. This philosophy is reflected in our seeks to provide direct support to people in order to increase their income and improve their living standards.

Protection Sector

The protection sector is a critical component of the humanitarian aid sector, providing vital support to vulnerable populations affected by crises and conflicts.

Health Sector

WATAN’s Health sector has been operational since 2012, working towards improving the health systems in Northern West Syria (NWS).

Water and Sanitation Sector

WATAN’s WASH sector is guided by strategic pillars aimed at ensuring water safety and addressing essential needs while promoting public hygiene, and mitigating water-borne diseases, through innovative and sustainable methods.

Education Sector

WATAN’s Education sector was established in 2012 to meet the urgent need for formal education and psychosocial support among Syrian refugees and IDPs in Turkey and Syria.

WATAN’s Food Security and Agriculture (FSA) sector is dedicated to meeting the immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict-affected populations while also building their resilience as they recover from disasters.

WATAN’s shelter sector has a comprehensive approach to providing shelter solutions for displaced communities in Syria and Turkey.

The shelter program aims to provide safe shelter for internally displaced persons by providing healthy living conditions with privacy and dignity to groups of people and families. This occurs in various forms such as camps, temporary or permanent housing.

Civil Society Support Sector

The Civil Society Program supports the training of employees who work with civil society organizations, charities within the specialized fields as well as local councils.

Water Sanitation Sector

The WASH program works on providing clean water for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene in order to maintain a healthy life and reduce the transmission of water-borne diseases

Food Security & Livelihood Sector

The Food Security and Livelihoods Program focuses on projects that aim to break the cycle of poverty and meet emergency needs of food.

WATAN Health Program is working to reduce mortality and disease prevalence. It provides sustainable support to medical facilities as well
